Having a party with the theme Alice in Wonderland from the Tim Burton film is posing a problem. We do need to come up with some games that are significant to the movie and add some regular Halloween games in as well. For ideas we are trying out the game section at Halloween-Online.com and Halloween Party Games for ideas that we can use for usual Halloween games and ones that we can adapt for an Alice in Wonderland theme. We could do a Tea Cup race and see who spills the least amount of tea. We could have a back yard hunt for severed doll heads with the "Off With Their Head" game. Who ever collects the most heads wins. I'm sure I can come up with more if I try.

It's fairly easy to take an old game and change it around to suit your needs, no matter what kind of party you are throwing, so check out both sites listed above for ideas for party games for your own Halloween party!

With Halloween drawing near and having a whole week-end to celebrate, there will be lots of Halloween parties, both adult and kids. To keep the party flowing smoothly, you need to have a plan all worked out ahead of time as to how it's going to go, such as arrival of guests, when to eat, when to play games, when to put on the music and dance and so on.

For kids, you can keep the games simple like having a "pumpkin hunt" in the back yard or doing the favorite old stand by, Hall O'Ween and his Creepy Body where you pass around bowls of things like spaghetti and tell a story about his body parts.

By using some of the ideas here, it will give you more time to plan the rest of the party since you'll find print out for word finds and cross word puzzles at the first link and more good ideas at the second one!

We just have a couple months to get it all together for Halloween this year and time goes by way too fast so start planning now!

Whether you are having a Halloween party for adults or kids, you'll want to have some kind of games to keep people busy and help the party run smoothly. Plan simple games that won't take too much time per game but still be fun and exciting. You'll also want to pick up some small Halloween related items to use as prizes for the winners. Of course, you can have a costume contest and give awards for best costume, best couples costume, best home made costume and things like that.

You can also find games at party stores and Halloween shops such as Pin The Face On The Pumpkin (which you can also make yourself, instructions at the above web sites). You can find a good selection of small toys, awards and other things to use as prizes at Halloween shops and mas market retailers.

I found a great idea for a Halloween game for kids and adults alike. You take an empty water bottle and fill it full of bird seed and add about 40 random tiny Halloween objects as you add the bird seed. You make a list of all the stuff and the kids have to shake the bottle, twist it and turn it to bring things up to the sides so they can see them and mark them off.

I actually made about a dozen of these at my brother's house a couple weeks ago. My mom and I took a trip to see him and his wife and kids. His wife was making a couple and my mom loved them so much she wanted to make a bunch for all her friends grandkids so we did! They were as much fun to make as they were to play with!

There are actually a lot of companies making board games for Halloween! We've found quite a few over the past couple years. Any of these would make a great addition to a Halloween party or for a family game night during the Halloween season.

Some of the more interesting ones that we've found are Halloween Dominoes, Halloween Bingo and Halloween Jenga. My 78 year old mom had a Halloween party last year with the ladies from her domino club, we bought her a set of the Halloween Dominoes and that's what they used. All the ladies were so thrilled with them, they just never imagined that you could find games like that relating to Halloween.

You just have to look for them and you'll find them. Check out stores like Wal-mart or Walgreens. Check online doing a search for "Halloween board games" and you'll find quite a few. Just another simple way to keep a little more excitement in Halloween for you and your kids.

Halloween 2009 will be on a Saturday do you can have a party on Friday night and still not miss out on the trick-or-treating on Halloween night! Games always make a party run smooth and help fill any empty time that might come up. There are so many games for kids that can be adapted for adults that you won't run out of ideas, besides, most adults like to act a little like a kid on Halloween anyway! Here's an idea for another great game!

HALLOWEEN "CANDY TOSS" GAME
Place a small plastic pumpkin pail or cauldron on the floor or suspended by a cord from the ceiling. Measure off a distance of six feet for children or eight feet for adults from the pumpkin pail or cauldron and mark with a piece of colored tape. This is were the player must stand when they try to toss the candy into the plastic pumpkin or cauldron.
Next, hand out six pieces of candy to each player. The candy should all be about the same size. We like to use those miniature candy bars that come in bags around Halloween.

In turn, each player places their toes on the distance line marked with the tape, and then tries to toss all of their pieces of candy into the pail or cauldron one at a time. When every player has had a turn, the scores are compared and the player who tossed in the most candy wins all of the candy in the plastic pumpkin or cauldron.

What you will need:
Plastic Pumpkin Pail or Cauldron, Halloween Candy, Note Pad & Pencil for keeping score, Measuring stick or tape measure, Colored Tape.

Been trying to come up with some new games for Halloween this year? Are the kids getting older and looking for some new and more exciting ones for the Halloween party? I found this site that has some games listed that can be adapted to use for older kids. You can try the old favorite, Hall O' Ween and his Squishy Body. They always love that one! Maybe a mini pumpkin hunt in the back yard as well. Decorate for the party outside as well, it will lend a spooky atmosphere to the pumpkin hunt. Give a prize for the person that collects the most. The nice thing about the kids getting older, you can go a bit scarier now and not worry about it. Kids love those little thrills and chills as they get older, it helps develope a healthy sense of what is fun scary and what they should really be worrying about.

This is a classic Halloween game that we've talked about before so I thought that I would post it for those who wanted it right now. You can change the character, make it a witch or whatever but it all goes the same. Kids love to get grossed out, they'll love this game!

Hall O'Ween and His Squishy Body

Object of the game: You pass around paper cups to your guests while telling the story below. Do it in the dark or in a semi dark room and tell them they can't look in the cups. The cups are filled with gross "body parts" (food) and guests have to guess what it really is.

What You Need: Paper cups. Peeled grapes or olives, peeled stewed tomatoes, piece of uncooked liver or similar meat, wet corn silk or yarn, catsup, latex glove, gelatin, cold spaghetti, pickle, chicken gristle or hot dog end. Papers and pencils. Don't forget to keep a box of hand wipes around for guests to clean their hands off with when you are done with the game!

What To Do: Ahead of time, prepare the cups that are described below. Have everyone sit in a circle, then shut off most of the lights and start the story. You have to have the room fairly dark so that people cannot see what's inside of the cups. You can pass out paper and pencil a the beginning of the game and let them write down their guesses between each cup or you can have each player guess out loud between each cup. At the very end of the game, you can tell them what is in each cup, but wait until the end!!

Tip: Check out your local dollar store and pick up some festive Halloween paper or plastic drinking cups or glasses to add Halloween flair to the game!

Here's The Story: Tell the story as you pass around each cup.

"Once in this town there lived a man named Hall O' Ween. T'was years ago, on this very night, that he was murdered out of spite. They say these are his remains."

Here is his brain, which now feels no pain.
use a peeled squishy tomato or stewed tomatoes

Here are his eyes, still swollen with surprise.
use two frozen, peeled grapes or black olives

Here is his heart. Be careful lest it start!
use a large lump of uncooked liver or similar meat. You can also find Gummy Hearts at stores to use.

Now we have his hair, which once was so fair!
use a couple handsful of damp corn silk, wet fur or yarn

Feel these drops of his blood. All the rest turned to mud.
use a ketchup thinned with warm water, you can add diced tomatoes if you want "clots"

One hand all alone, just rotting flesh and bone.
use a wet latex glove filled with red gelatin and tied off at the end, make it feel really squishy and gross.

Here is his ear. Nevermore will he hear!
use a dried apricot or similar dried fruit

This is his nose. Now to never smell a rose.
use the end of a pickle, a hot dog or a soft chicken bone or gristle

These worms are all that's left to feel. For them Hal O'Ween was a lovely meal!
use cold, wet spaghetti

After the lights are back on and everyone has finished writing down their guesses, collect the papers. As you check their guesses, you can show everyone what was really in the cups. Give a nice prize to the person with the most correct answers.

Halloween Game - Weaving A Scary Tale

Object of the Game: To create a scary tale, each person getting one minute and the next person take over!

What You Do: Get a pack of index cards and a pen. Write a phrase on each card that would be a scary line for story or that has to do with Halloween or both! (see below for ideas). Get a minute timer. Then, pass around the deck of cards, face down. Turn down the lights and light a candle to set the mood or give each person a flash light to hold under thier face as they speak. Each player picks a card from the deck and begins to spin a tale for one minute.

When the minute is up, he/she hands the cards to the next person, who picks one and turns the story another direction. They should repeat the last line spoken by the previous person so the story keeps going. The game ends when the last person has gone, when the cards run out or when everyone has had enough of it, it's an endless game! This game is better for children over the age of 6 to adults.
